Info for Patients
If you want to get a charming, vibrant smile, you should be ready to go through a process which needs time, careful monitoring, some amendments in the living style and a scrupulous involvement. And the end result is fantastic. Some information is given here to help you while going through the treatment to make it easiest, speediest and most successful.
Foods to Avoid
An orthodontic treatment with braces does not restrict patient’s eating and drinking habits much. Nevertheless, there are a few food items which give rise to distortion of the orthodontic appliances, bending of wires, increase the frequency of visits for repairs and even prolong the duration of treatment.
Read a list of foods to keep away from while being under treatment with braces in: Foods to avoid.
Oral hygiene
Albeit it is a good habit to clean teeth and gums daily to keep the oral hygiene, during orthodontic procedure it should be done with special care.
While taking foods, the food particles are caught in teeth, wires and brackets and are left there for the whole night to get converted to thick plaque, on and around teeth and even between the teeth and gums. Due to the plaque several dental conditions may take place, such as, swollen gums, tooth decay, along with bad breath.
